While many of us attend trade shows as exhibitors, there is always the chance that you will be attending a trade show as a consumer. Take advantage of the next opportunity to attend a trade show and get the extra mileage that will carry you through your marketing year with these four tips.Trade Show Planning

1. Do your homework.

Before you set foot on the floor of a trade show, do your homework. Figure out your priorities for the next six months and create a wish list of needs – then plan your day accordingly. Setting your priorities will help you accomplish more on the trade show floor.

2. Get personal.

Be willing to talk to the vendors on the floor and share information with them. If you are able to show that you have a plan and aren’t just browsing the booths; you’re more likely to feel that you accomplished something AND the vendors will provide you with more information.

3. Take advantage of the free education.

Many trades hows now offer education sessions, whether demonstrations, roundtable discussions or classes on topics impacting your industry.  Spend some time to reignite your passion, learn something new and network with others at these sessions.

4. Plan to have fun!

There is a reason why you are in the position you are in. Get excited about the information you learn and the things you see and carry this enthusiasm with you when you return home.
