To Vernon Company families: As you know, The Vernon Company’s scholarship program, which is dedicated to the memory of my late father, William F. Vernon, Sr., is for the benefit of the children of the company’s employees.
This year, up to three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to eligible high school seniors who qualify. Each award is renewable for the four years of the student’s college career…if the Selection Committee deems the recipient’s college progress satisfactory and the parent meets the employment requirements.
The Committee is composed of two educators from outside the Company who are professionally qualified to evaluate the school records and other accomplishments of the applicants.
I hope this program of recognizing scholastic ability and performance will encourage all children of employees to take full advantage of their educational opportunities.
