My name is Diane Danley and I work in what we call the Service Center. Some companies might call this Pre-sales. We do all product research (other than apparel and graphics as they have their own research departments) for our 400 + salespeople when they do not know where to go. We utilize a variety of different search methods to get salespeople the info they need. We communicate with the sales force via phone, fax and email. In addition we can check with suppliers to see if they can meet specific in hands dates.
