The
Different Shades of Green
Is
Green Even the Right Color For Me?
These days green is the new
black. In fact, it has become this year's color of choice - and it's a color
that looks good on everyone who dons it. Companies and individuals alike are
choosing to go green...not just because it's good for business, but because it's
simply the right thing to do.

Green Facts
Americans throw away
25 trillion styrofoam cups every year. Styrofoam is
un-recyclable. You can't make it into new Styrofoam, and one cup
takes 500 years to decompose.
More than 4
billion pounds of plastic water and beverage bottles are used in
one year. It takes a plastic water bottle 700 years before
it starts to decompose.
The average
family of four tosses out approximately 1,500 plastic bags a
year. It can take up to 1,000 years for a plastic bag to
break down in the environment.
Annually, nearly
3 billion batteries are used and then thrown away by American
households. |
The need for environmental
preservation and the reduction of pollutants is fast becoming recognized as a
fundamental necessity. Corporate social responsibility is high on the agenda and
businesses are taking action on the sustainability of our environment by
promoting green practices and purchasing products and materials that lessen the
impact on it. And as individuals, employees and customers have become extremely
conscientious about the state of our environment and actively seek to support
companies that are thought to be environmentally responsible.
By taking small steps, just
like changing your home to be greener, you can change your marketing and
promotional programs to incorporate green practices and products. Doing so has
a beneficial impact on the environment and gives the positive effect of your
company being socially responsible.
Almost everyone benefits from
the positive aspects of green marketing. Even if your company isn't actively
promoting the green philosophy on a corporate level, it’s hard to argue that we
shouldn’t be doing what we can to improve our environment and minimize our
impact on it.
